CHAPTER SEVEN

– LEXI –

“I’m sure you were used to crazy parties in the past, but these guys can shoot past the point of crazy and dive right into the mental asylum when it comes to partying with two chapters.” Angie, Owen’s mother, cringes and focuses back on chopping tomatoes.

We arrived at the Rebel Rage MC compound of Owen’s brother, Felix, a little over an hour ago. It was quite hectic with two large MC chapters getting together but somehow they all settled and a few filtered out the back door to the yard while others picked a room to get some shut-eye.

I’ve come to know most of Owen’s MC members who all have a part in making sure the band stuff runs fluidly, but I don’t know all of the others who are here now. Sure, Owen told me about his parents, uncle, brother, and a few others, but most of the people here were complete strangers.

And you would think moving from town to town for years, settling down over and over, would make things easier to adjust to strangers. Truth is, it’s not. I’m awkward. More so when it comes to the strangers in question being Owen’s family.

“Growing up, sure,” I tell her in an answer to her question. “Though it was a lifetime ago.”

A deep sigh flows from her and she puts the knife down. “Okay, I should be more direct. Excuse my French when I say this new generation of Rebel Rage MC are horndogs. They all think their dick is magical and made of gold for all chicks to adore and worship the shine. Little do they know polishing it sometimes makes it lose its shine.” She cringes. “I put some of those horndogs on this planet and I know for certain their wieners are like any others. God knows because they’ve peed on me more than once. Anyway.” She takes a seat at the chair across from me. “Owen asked me to warn you about Felix and the others.”

“Warn me?” Confusion bubbles up. “I know some guys can be wild when it comes to pursuing women to have some fun. I mean, if you’re single and it’s your thing, who are we to judge, right?”

“Right,” Angie says and folds her hands.

A massive tank of a man strolls into the kitchen. He’s somewhat older with gray sideburns and heads straight for Angie to place a kiss on the top of her head as he takes the seat next to her.

“What my wife is trying to explain is the fact Felix and Owen have a complicated kinship. They go head-to-head on every turn. They challenge one another but are also competitive. Sometimes even ending in bloodshed or worse, not speaking to one another for years.”

Sadness overtakes Angie and she nods. “It’s why Owen left to found his own chapter.”

I can feel my forehead wrinkle because, “I thought he founded the MC to combine his career along with all the band members and such.”

They share a look and Alaric, Owen’s father, eventually says, “That too but it wasn’t the main reason.
